BOBBY GILLESPIE'S HAIR

Look at their happy smiling faces. Check out the guys on the right flipping the finger with glee. What about the baldy guy on the far right who's holding an imaginary pint aloft. There's even a Club Beer operative grinning inanely in this picture if you can be bothered to scan through the faces. Such is the joy of the Bobby Gillespie's Hair live experience. This snap, taken onstage by singer Fraser at the All Tomorrow's Parties indie noise festival, is a historical document on a par with the Blue Peter time capsule thing that was buried in the seventies. Scholars of ale and pop in centuries to come will study it closely, hoping to unearth the genius gene that made Bobby Gillespie's Hair the most notorious bunch of pissheads the 21st Century had ever seen. And they will fail. For the secret's not in the way you look or act. It's behind the bar. On tap. At very reasonable prices.
